The Australian Training visa (subclass 407) allows eligible international applicants to undertake structured, workplace-based occupational training or professional development in Australia for up to 2 years. The visa requires an approved sponsor and an approved training nomination.
Key 407 Requirements
Applicants generally need to:
- Be 18 years or older, subject to applicable exceptions
- Have an approved Australian sponsor
- Have an approved nomination and genuine training program
- Have appropriate qualifications, experience or professional background for the proposed training
- Demonstrate functional English
- Meet health and character requirements
- Maintain appropriate health insurance
- Demonstrate sufficient financial capacity for themselves and accompanying family members
- Meet the genuine temporary stay and other visa requirements
